Dr Nandakuamr K S has vast research and teaching experience for more than thirty seven years. He has obtained fundamental biomedical and scientific research training from one of the Indian’s premier medical institutes, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. His research and training was carried out at the Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology of PGI and  was mentored and trained by then  Prof N K Ganguly (Ex-Director General ICMR) , Prof Inder S Anand ( Director , Heart Failure, VA Medical Centre, USA) late Prof P L Wahi ( Director, PGI.) PGI has awarded him with Gold Medal for his doctorate research work. During his research, he had established various laboratory research studies and experimental programs along with MD/MS/DM/MDS courses. He has availed ASCB/EMBO fellowship program in Switzerland. At GOI- DBT-National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, he had gained hand on expertise in various human and animal primary tissue and cell culture systems and cell lines for applied and fundamental scientific and biotechnology research. During his tenure at NCCS, he has been a national Co-ordinator for Animal Tissue and Cell Culture program supported by DBT. He had been an approved research faculty of Pune University in biotechnology research areas and guided PhD and postgraduate students. For a short period he worked under world bank supported biotechnology NATP at CIFA, Bhubaneswar. Later he worked at different industrial R&Ds  of various  organizations at different scientific and managerial levels including Zydus Research Centre(ZRC), Zydus Cadila, Ahmedabad, Connexios Life Sciences , Bangalore, Research and Development, Himalaya Drug Company(HDC), Bangalore; ITC Life Science and Technology Centre, ITC Limited, Bangalore. He has established state-of-the facilities for tissue and cell culture at ZRC and HDC. With wide experience in modern biological and biomedical research in synthetic & natural components and ingredients, he has scientifically driven many programs through preclinical and clinical studies related to chemical & natural therapeutic molecules and entities for metabolic health and inflammatory conditions & herbal and natural ingredients & formulations and functional foods for human healthcare management. During his research at different organizations, he has contributed to the launching of various therapeutic molecules, natural products and formulations for different domains of human health and well-being. Nandakumar has trained and acquired expertise in Good laboratory Practice (GLP) at ZRC and HDC and headed the GLP- Department of Microbiology and In vitro Mutagenicity. He has certifications in Management from Crestcom, and in Research Methodology, Biostatistics and Clinical Nutrition. He has attended many workshops and programs in business management conducted by many internationally renowned management experts and faculties. He has been participating in many national conferences, delivered many talks at premier institutes, universities and chaired many scientific sessions and members of many scientific bodies. He was member of board of studies and PhD examiner. He has established various collaborative programs with many premier scientific organizations, medical institutes & hospitals and industries and has excellent network back up in different areas of science and technology. He has supervised research thesis work for PhD, MD/MDS/MS and graduate students during his services at various organizations. He has filed more than forty patents and has scientific communications in Nature, BMJ and in many others.
